Football Preview: Solon Takes On Normandy in Homecoming Game

The Comets are 2-2 entering their Homecoming game against Normandy.

It's Homecoming Weekend at Solon High, and the Comets hope to return to winning ways against the Invaders from Normandy.

The Comets came up short to North Royalton last week, and bring a 2-2 record into the game.

Here's five things you need to know about the Week 5 matchup:

1. Game Time: 7 p.m. Friday. The game will be played at Stewart Field at Solon High School.

2. Matchup History: Solon dominated Normandy last season with a 48-0 shutout win.

3. 'Every Play a Learning Opportunity': The key for the Comets this week is to learn from their mistakes and move on. "Win or lose, every week, every game, and every play is a learning opportunity," said Solon Head Coach Jim McQuaide. "We take those opportunities and grow from them in order to move on to the next opportunity. Our guys are well aware of what needs to be done to be successful and we must execute on that."

4. Homecoming Festivities: It's Homecoming Weekend for Solon. Be in your seats by 6:35 p.m. The 2012 Solon High School Homecoming ceremonies will take place during the marching band’s pregame show.
