Chris D'Amato led a late-inning offense explosion for the Comets baseball squad in Solon's 11-6 win over Shaker heights Monday.
The Comets are now 5-1 and 2-0 in Northeast Ohio Conference.
D'Amato had three hits, knocking in 5 RBIs and scoring a run himself. With the Comets down by one run after four innings, D'Amato stepped to the plate in the fifth and delivered with a two-run single, scoring Danny Sutyak and Aaron Epstein. Solon added another run in the fifth.

Shaker threatened to rally in the sixth inning, but pitcher Pat Vogel got out of it with the Solon lead preserved.
Solon added four more runs in the top of the seventh off singles by Jesse Circelli and a two-run double by Michael Dunn.

Jesse Keckler collected the win on the mound for Solon. He's 1-0 on the year.
