Solon Speech and Debate Triumphs at Chagrin Falls

Solon Speech and Debate secured a victory at the Chagrin Falls tournament, while the Policy Debaters competed at the GlenOak tournament.

The Solon Speech and Debate Team competed close to home at Chagrin Falls High School on December 10th. After an intense tournament out of district the previous weekend, it was refreshing to be back in the Cleveland District, where the competition still did not stifle the efforts of our team. Here are the Solon competitors who placed at Chagrin:

International Extemporaneous:

Ojas Sathe -- 1st Place

United States Extemporaneous:

Tiffany Li -- 4th Place

Kylene Ye -- 6th Place

 

Dramatic Interpretation:

London Christian -- 1st Place

Nisha Malhotra -- 3rd Place

 

Humorous Interpretation:

Meghan Pavithran -- 2nd Place

 

Duo Interpretation:

Priyanka Pai and Annie Xin -- 5th Place

Jennifer Rosenburg and Marissa Apple -- 6th Place

 

Prose and Poetry Reading:

Rebecca Farag -- 3rd Place

 

Original Oratory:

Liz Eder -- 1st Place

Adrija Chaturvedi -- 5th Place

 

Impromptu Speaking:

Andy Li -- 5th Place

Kevin Rosenthal -- 6th Place

 

The Solon Policy Debaters also competed at the GlenOak tournament, where Michael Chen and Ayush Gupta were finalists and qualified for the state tournament. Congratulations to everyone on another successful weekend! Next Saturday we'll bring our determination and effort to the tournament at Howland High School.
