Accomplishment: The seven students are from a pool of of 3,ooo students across the U.S. named as candidates in the annual Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation's highest honors for graduating seniors. In the end, only 141 will be selected as scholars by a commission appointed by President Barack Obama. The students should learn if they are chosen in May.
Key to Awesomeness: Superintendent Joe Regano said he is thrilled by the selection of seven students as candidates, which is the most Solon has had in one year and is the most of any high school in Ohio.
