Accomplishment: Danielle had a great time at the Division II state swim meet – in more ways than one.

Not only did she sing the national anthem both days of the event, but she also became a champion and a record holder. Danielle's winning time of 102.74 in the 100-meter breaststroke broke the previous record of 103.09, and is the fastest in all divisions. She became Walsh Jesuit's first-ever state swimming champion.

Key to Awesomeness: Danielle said she knew she was ready to go, but was still surprised when she saw her time.

"It was pretty far below where I wanted to go," Danielle said, noting that her previous personal best time was 103.3. "But I knew I was mentally prepared and I knew I had it in me."

Danielle also has been singing as long as she can remember and is a member of Walsh's Harmony Gold Show Choir. Her pipes graced the swim meet on both days as she sang the national anthem.

As if all that isn't enough: She also has a 4.1 GPA and is a member of the top-notch Walsh Jesuit girls' soccer team, which in 2010 won the state championship and was named the top girls' soccer team in the nation in the 2010 ESPN Rise poll.

Danielle said she hopes to swim and play soccer in college – and sing too.

"I'd like to do all three," she said.
