Solon Show Choir Wins Competition in Piqua

Music in Motion won the competition and also took home a host of individual awards.

show choir, Music In Motion, won the 29th Annual Piqua High School Show Choir Invitational on Saturday in Piqua, Ohio.

The show choir won a competition that included 17 choirs from Ohio, Indiana and West Virginia. The show choir also took home a host of individual awards.

At the day time awards ceremony, Music In Motion won Best Male Vocalist (Kirk Eichelberger, Jr.), Best Female Vocalist (Dani Apple), Best Overall Male Performer (Kirk Eichelberger, Jr.), Best Costumes, Best Set Design, and Class A Champion. Kirk also won the Best Performer award for Solon. Based on the highest overall scores, Music In Motion and 5 other show choirs won the opportunity to advance to the evening finals.

After the finals were completed, Music In Motion won Best Vocals, Best Show Concept, Best Instrumentals, Best Choreography, and Grand Champion. In total, the kids brought home 11 tropies (plus Kirk's trophy as the best performer for Solon). In other words, we took home 11 out of the 13 possible "best"/champion trophies at the competition!
