Solon High Student Named Presidential Scholar Semi-Finalist

Aditya Nair was named a Presidential Scholar Semi-Finalist.

A Solon High School student has been selected as a Presidential Scholar Semi-Finalist, and is one step away from potentially becoming one of this year's 141 honored scholars.

Aditya Nair was named a semi-finalist.

Four students from Solon High, and another Solon resident who attends University School were candidates but did not advance to the semi-final round. They are Rohan K. Achar, Stephen H. Tang, Thomas Y. Yi and Carlson Zou.

The scholar candidates students were picked from a pool of thousands of students across the U.S. named as candidates in the annual Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation's highest honors for graduating seniors. Application to the program is by invite only, and based on ACT and SAT scores.

In the end, no more than 141 will be selected as scholars by a commission appointed by President Barack Obama.
