Solon High Named One of Newsweek's Best High Schools

Solon High School was one of 35 Ohio schools that made the list

Newsweek named one of the best schools in the country in it's annual list.

Solon High ranks at No. 152 out of Newsweek's list of America's 1,000 best high schools. Last year,

The school was one of 35 Ohio schools this year to receive the honor, which was announced this week through the Daily Beast.

What put Solon over the top? It's graduation rate is high at 99 percent and 95 percent of its graduates are college-bound. It's average SAT score is 1678, and ACT 24.7, according to the Daily Beast stats.

Other Ohio Patch towns to get the honor are: Beachwood (305), Hoover High (in North Canton), Avon Lake (610) and Shaker Heights (505) (Patch Newssite coming soon).
