Roger Goudy Exits Solon School Board Race

Goudy, who also is the superintendent of Madison City Schools, decided not to run for re-election after pulling petitions

Roger Goudy has decided not to defend his seat on the Solon Board of Education.

Goudy, who will complete his first term at the end of the year, said the time is right for him to step aside. Goudy also is the superintendent of Madison City Schools.

“I think you need to know when it’s time to walk away, and I think it’s time for me to just walk away and do other things,” Goudy told the Chagrin Solon Sun.

Despite Goudy's exit, the race for three seats on the school board remains crowded. Two incumbents – Dorothy Seibert and Julie Glavin – are running for re-election, as are two former Solon mayors, Kevin Patton and Robert Paulson.

The other candidates are Chris Bryant, John Heckman and Ken Myers.
