During lunch today, Parkside Elementary and Solon Middle School went into a precautionary lock down due to a police incident on S.O.M. Center Road. The students were never in any danger and the lock down was only a precaution.

Some students at Parkside were on the playground at recess when the lock down was called and they were rapidly ushered inside per the lock down procedures. The all-clear was given very quickly. In fact, Solon Middle School was in the process of locking down when the clear signal was issued.

Students were reassured that they were safe and that everything was fine.

Although some students said they heard gun shots, there were no shots at all fired. That is just a rumor among a few students, however, we wanted you to know that in case your child comes off the bus saying anything about gun shots. The incident is still under investigation by the Solon Police and at this time no specifics can be released. Again, no students were in any danger today.
