Parents Can Help Children Manage Stress and Anxiety at School

A psychiatrist is offering some tips at the next Organized Parent Education Network meeting.

Dr. Molly McVoy, a full-time child and adolescent psychiatrist, will be available to talk with parents about the signs of stress and anxiety your students are faced with during the March 12 Organized Parent Education Networking program.

McVoy, who works in the department of child and adolescent psychiatry at Case Western Reserve and University Hospitals, will offer assistance in helping your students manage stress about studying, grades and friends.

During the program, McVoy will "help parents understand the physiology and signs of anxiety and what they can do to help their children who experience anxiety," according to a statement posted by the Solon School District
