National Champions! Solon High and Middle School Teams Win Science Olympiad

Both teams won the national championships at the University of Wisconsin this weekend

Solon schools have the best student scientists in the land.

The Comets' Science Olympiad teams for the middle and high schools both won national championships at the national tournament held May 20 and May 21 at the University of Wisconsin.Β 

It's the middle school team's fourth consecutive national championship.

The high schoolers took first place in three vents: Disease Detectives, Optics and Wind Power. The middle school won first place in Storm the Castle.

The 2011 Science Olympiad National Tournament included more than 2,000 students from 120 of the most accomplished olympiad teams from across the country.
