The Arthur Road event was one of five on Wednesday to celebrate the district's state report card achievements

Solon City Schools performed better than any other district in Northeast Ohio last year, and on Wednesday students seemed as if they could also be named the most enthusiastic in the region.

The district held five separate celebrations Wednesday at its elementary schools in honor of the district's Excellent with Distinction grade on the state report card. The district ranked first in Northeast Ohio and third in the entire state.

Teachers and administrations wanted the students to understand their contribution to such a large achievement. The Solon High School drum line helped, along with leaders various student groups.

"We wanted to give them a sense of pride," Solon Schools spokeswoman Tammy Strom said. "It was a celebration of learning and how well they did."
