SECPTA Program - Using Positive Reinforcement to Make Parenting Easier

Solon Early Childhood PTA presents its September program for families with children ages five and under. This month, Dr. Andrea Burland will cover managing the behavior of small children in her discussion: You Call it Bribery, I Call it Positive Reinforcement.

Child and family psychologist, Andrea Stephenson Burland, will discuss the basic principles of Behavior Management and Learning Theory, which have been studied and proven to increase the occurrence of positive behavior while reducing the occurrence of negative behavior in children within families. And yes, positive reinforcement (or bribery to some), is definitely a part of this! At the end of our discussion not only does Andrea hope to give us a basic understanding of behavioral theory, but leave us with a few new tricks up our sleeves as well.
