Trial Set In Sally Deitrick Wrongful Termination Lawsuit

If the parties can't reach a settlement, Sally Deitrick's wrongful termination trial against the city of Solon and Mayor Susan Drucker will go to trial in 2013.

If no settlement is reached, Sally Deitrick's wrongful termination trial against Mayor Susan Drucker and the city of Solon will go to trial next year.

According to records at the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, Judge Peter J. Corrigan has set a trial date of Sept. 23, 2013.

No more continuances will be granted in the lawsuit, which was filed in October 2011. So unless a settlement is reached, the case will be heard.

A settlement conference has also been scheduled for Jan. 25, so that will give both sides a chance to work out a deal.

Sally Deitrick has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the city and Mayor Susan Drucker.

Deitrick is Drucker's former secretary. In her lawsuit, Deitrick alleges that Drucker fired her because she was old, and that Drucker had something against the city's older employers. Drucker countered that Deitrick was unreliable, untrustworthy and bad at her job.

The city's attorneys tried to get the lawsuit tossed out, but the judge rejected that motion.
