Techtron Systems Moving to Solon, Expected to Create 105 Jobs

In return, the company will receive grant funds from the city through the Job Creation Grant Program

Techtron Industries plans to open a circuitboard factory in Solon, a move that is expected to create 105 jobs over the next three years.

In return, the company will receive grant funding from the city of Solon, as much as $48,000, to invest in its business.

The company, currently located in Mayfield Village, plans to buy a 70,000-square-foot building at 29500 Fountain Parkway and convert it into a factory. The company expects to begin creating jobs this December and have all 105 jobs in place by the end of 2014.

The company will invest $5 million in the project, according to its agreement with the city.

City leaders praised the company's decision and the city's economic development director Peggy Weil-Dorfmann for the agreement.

"It is always wonderful news when we learn another company is moving to Solon," said Mayor Susan Drucker.

Drucker said Solon had received some bad jobs news, with  and  leaving the city and taking the jobs with them.

"But here we are, getting another company and gaining them right back," she said.

According to the agreement, Techtron Systems is expected to create 75 jobs in 2011 and 2012, 20 more in 2013 and 10 in 2014. 

While Techtron can receive up to a $48,000 grant every year, the annual amount will depend on creating new payroll and jobs in Solon.
