The Solon Planning Commission will vote on a variance for the sign package of a major tenant at Solon Village.
Developer Echo Solon has requested five wall signs, two ground signs and sign location variance for its yet-to-open location at the new building at Solon Village. The coffee shop was previously scheduled to open in October in the building with Menchies, GNC and other businesses. A new date has yet to be announced.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. after a 7 p.m. caucus at City Hall.
The commission planned on reviewing a variance request from Menchies for a patio site plan, but that measure will be tabled, Planning Director Rob Frankland said.
Aside from a few residential requests, the commission will also review applications from:
- Davis Auto — sign variance
- FirstEnergy — for a 30-foot addition to the vehicle storage area on Solon Road.
- Crawford Fitting — street setback and fence variance requests so the company can provide electrical power to Swagelok Co.
The Planning Commission will also host a public hearing regarding an amendment proposal to an ordinance that create a new Comprehensive Storm Water Management plan. The amendment would require land owners who develop or re-develop their properties to uphold several stormwater control and maintenance responsibilities.
