Solon Schools To Receive Casino Revenue This Month
The Solon school district and schools across the state will get a cut of the nearly $38 million in casino money designated for the schools.
School districts across Ohio will share a cut of nearly $38 million in casino revenue set to be distributed later this month, and Solon Schools will share in the action.
The Plain Dealer reports that this will be the first revenue sharing with school districts since the first casinos opened in Ohio in May. That's when Cleveland's Horseshoe Casino opened.
According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, Solon Schools are set to receive $103,182.50 at the end of the month.

Casinos are taxed based on their revenues, and that money is divided up based on a formula between the state, counties, cities and school districts.
Schools receive their money two times each year, in January and August, reports the Plain Dealer.
