Solon Council to Hold Special Meeting Tonight on Nestle Expansion

Council members will vote to certify legislation and send the board of elections a rezoning petition that will be on the ballot in November

Solon City Council will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. tonight in to take action regarding the proposed  expansion.

Council will vote tonight to certify to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections an ordinance proposed by petition to rezone the property.

Nestle seeks to in Solon on about 18 acres near Cannon Road. The company owns the land, but its zoned residential. It needs to be zoned industrial for Nestle to build.

The rezoning decision will be made by Solon voters in November. Nestle officials collected 1,500 signatures from residents earlier this month so the item can be on the ballot.
