Solon Begins Defense in Deitrick Lawsuit

The attorney representing the city of Solon and Mayor Susan Drucker was in court last week.

The city has begun its defending itself filed by the mayor's former secretary.

The attorney representing the and Mayor Susan Drucker in a wrongful termination lawsuit was in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court last week, asking Judge Peter J. Corrigan to dismiss the lawsuit.

Attorneys for the city also filed an answer and counter-claim to Deitrick's , in which the former mayor's secretary accused Drucker and the city of wrongfully firing her because of her age and a pattern of discriminating against Solon's older workers.

But city officials have said that Drucker fired Deitrick only for performance problems. Those problems, city officials say, are outlined in the Drucker sent to Deitrick.
