Grantwood Golf Pro Leaving for Another Job

Scott Pollack is taking a job with Callaway Golf, and his resignation is effective Friday

Scott Pollack, the Golf Pro at the Solon-owned Grantwood Golf Course, is leaving for a new job.

Mayor Susan Drucker said that Pollack, who has worked at Grantwood since 1999, is leaving on good terms because he got a "great opportunity" to work for Callaway Golf.Β

Pollack's last day is Friday.

Drucker said that the city has no plans to immediately replace Pollack, but will eventually find someone to fill his position, which is largely a marketing job.

Recreation Director Don Holub will continue running the course and all of the course's lessons teachers and other workers are in place.

"I'm sad to see him go but I think we're still in good hands," Drucker said.

Pollack is a Solon native, and became a PGA member in 1992.

Grantwood is undergoing a number of changes after a city council-appointed panel recommended a number of changes to improve operations at the course, including making the recreation director the manager of the course and converting the golf pro job into a city job.Β

Until recently, Pollack was a contract employee. He also ran the pro shop, which was also as a result of the changes.
