Underage Drinking, Drug Possession on U.S. 422

Passengers in westbound vehicle receive drug and alcohol charges

An early morning traffic stop on Monday resulted in multiple charges for a vehicle full of young adults.

stopped a car driven by 21-year-old Benjamin Swindell of Cleveland at 3 a.m. on Route 422 after officers noticed the car weaving between lanes, Lt. Bruce Felton said. Officers charged Swindell with drug abuse and possession after finding marijuana in the westbound vehicle near the Harper Road exit.

Swindell's 19-year-old passenger, Stephanie Sciranko of Mayfield Heights, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol and presenting another person's identification. A third passenger, 23-year-old Nicholas Mantz of South Euclid, also received drug abuse and possession charges for marijuana.

Swindell was also charged with failure to drive in marked lanes.
