This year, there were three fatal accidents that became big news stories. Our condolensces go out to the families and friends of the victims.

Maliyah, 11 and Malaka Jones, 38

A fifth grader at , Maliyah her mother Malaka and a family friend were killed in an accident on the West Virginia border in April.

Sandor "Rick" Szachury, 43

Szachury was a cement truck driver who was killed in July when his truck flipped over on U.S. 422. He left behind his wife and three children.

Jason Kasmer, 28

Kasmer was killed in November when the Jeep he was driving struck the guard rail along U.S. 422.
