Thief Steals Solon Woman's Wedding Rings from Jewelry Store
The wedding and engagement ring are worth $18,860
When a Solon woman dropped off her wedding and engagement rings at a jewelry store to be resized, she probably didn't expect them to end up in the hands of a thief.
Solon Police are investigating the Jan. 15 theft of the woman's jewelry, worth $18,860, from Michael W. Hayes Jewelers at 28200 Miles Road.
According to the police report, a man walked into the jewelry store to sell jewelry. Hayes went into the back to get cash to pay the man for the sale. Hayes paid the man, who left the store at about 5:30 p.m. Only then did Hayes notice that an envelope holding the woman's rings was missing, according to the police report.
