Thief Buys Diamonds With Solon Man's Identity

A Solon man had his identity stolen by a thief who signed up for credit cards and then spent more than $12,000 on diamonds and tobacco, according to .

The 56-year-old Solon man told police that the thief bought $10,258.19 worth of diamonds at Helzberg Diamonds in Tulsa, Ok., and about $1,200 worth of tobacco and assorted goods at a Sam's Club in Denton, Tex.

The charges were made between May 30 and July 19, according to the police report.
