Spirikaitis' $1.5 Million Home Now Federal Property

The 51-year-old Solon man has been wanted by authorities since July 17.

It has been nearly two months since Solon's Alex Spirikaitis evaded police and FBI after a 15-hour standoff outside his Liberty Road home.

That home, valued at $1.5 million is now the property of the federal government, according to the Credit Union Times.

U.S. District Court Judge John R. Adams in Akron signed a warrant on Aug. 29, allowing federal authorities to seize the property, they report.

Spirikaitis’ wife, Julie, co-owns the home, signed an agreement consenting to and waiving any court hearing concerning the seizure of the home and has moved into another home with their two kids.

He was the CEO of the Taupa Lithuanian Credit Union on E. 185th Street which was closed a week before the standoff because of nearly $23 million in embezzlement, the charges Spirikaitis is running from.

Authorities believe the home was paid for using the stolen money from his credit union.

Spirikaitis, 51, has been on the run since the standoff on July 17.
