Son Steals Father's Credit Card, and Father Turns Him In

17-year-old Solon boy is charged with felony theft for using father's credit card to buy cigarettes and marijuana-like herbal spice

A Solon father turned in his 17-year-old son for stealing his credit card to buy cigarettes and a marijuana-like herbal spice.

The father contacted police on Jan. 31 to say that his son had stolen the father's credit card from his wallet, which the father had left in the kitchen, according to the police report.

On Dec. 29, the son spent $7.10 to buy cigarettes at a convenience store. On Jan. 16, the son purchased K2 Spice, a herbal substance that gives the same high as marijuana, at a Cleveland record store, according to the police report.

Police also searched the son's room and found a plastic bag with two pills and a scale in the room containing marijuana residue.

The son was charged with felony theft, misuse of credit cards, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His case will be handled in juvenile court.
