Solon Woman Going to Prison For Mortgage Scheme

A Solon woman was sentenced to 30 months in prison for her part in a mortgage fraud scheme, according to the Plain Dealer.

Willia T. Burton, 52, of Solon, who was a loan officer with Quick Funding Mortgage, played a part in a mortgage scheme involving 17 properties and more than $1.5 million in loans.

Burton pleaded guilty earlier this year to a charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Between November 2005 and August 2006, Burton  prepared loan applications containing fraudulent information used by straw buyers to purchase homes in Cleveland, Warrensville Heights, Independence, East Cleveland, Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights.
