Solon Police Passing Special Olympic Torch

Officers will carry the Flame of Hope from Moreland Hills to Twinsburg.

Since 2001 the Solon Police Department has participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run, when the northeastern Ohio leg began making its way through Solon.

On Wednesday, June 26 officers will participate again, taking the Flame of Hope from Moreland Hills officers at about 10:30 a.m. at S.R. 91 and Miles Road, then the Solon portion of the leg will proceed south on S.R. 91 to the Twinsburg line, where Twinsburg police will take over.

Editor's Note: A correction was made to the date of the run. It will, in fact, be on Wednesday, June 26 at 8 a.m.

The police department invites all to come out next week to cheer on Torch Run participants in all communities.

A full schedule of the week-long Torch Run can be found at the Ohio Special Olympics website, along with other information about the Torch Run.
