Solon Police K9 Sniffs Out a Big Drug Bust

The following information was provided by the Solon Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A Solon police K9 made a pretty decent find on May 25 during a traffic stop on US 422 near Chagrin Highlands Drive.

The passenger, Evan Dimatteo, 24, of Cleveland, was charged with drug possession (a fifth-degree felony) when police found a white, powdery drug called "Molly," a type of Ecstasy.

The passenger, a 24-year-old Cleveland man, was charged with misdemeanor drug abuse after he was found with 8.5 grams of marijuana.

Editor's Note: The original version of this story reported DiMatteo as the driver, but he was actually the passenger.
