Solon Man Charged With Punching Police Officer

A 26-year-old Solon man was arrested and charged with felony assault after police say he punched an officer.

went to the man's Selworthy Lane home after his father called saying that his son was out of control. Police have been called to the home before because of similar circumstances.

According to a police report, the man was sitting in a chair in the front hallway and refused to leave. That was when he lunged at one of the officer and punched him in the face.

This resulted in a struggle, and the man was eventually handcuffed and arrested.

The accused, Michael Jirousek, is charged with assault, a felony, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.
