Solon Home Damaged In House Fire

The information in this report is from the Solon Fire Department.

Solon Fire Department put out a house fire on Bainbridge Road today.

The fire at a duplex at 32800 Bainbridge Road was ruled as accidental and no one was home during the blaze.

Firefighters arrived at the home within four minutes and found flames in the first- and second-story windows. Chief Bill Shaw said the fire was put out within 16 minutes.

Damage at the home was estimated at $50,000 to the home and $5,000 to the contents. Most of the damage was to the exterior wall of the building and there was smoke damage inside.Β 

"Our crews did an excellent job of responding quickly and aggressively attacking the fire to minimize damage," Shaw said.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire was accidental and most likely related to electrical equipment.
