Solon Grad Arrested and Charged With Stealing Cell Phones

A Solon police officer on patrol noticed a car acting strangely near Solon High School, resulting in a Cleveland man being arrested and accused of stealing cellphones from high school students.

Marcas L. Stokes, 21, of Cleveland was arrested for felony theft on June 7. Stokes is a Solon graduate.

During the last few weeks, students on their way to school had reported a man pulling up in a car and asking them if he could use their cellphones to make a call. When the students handed over the phone, the man drove away, police said.

On June 7, the officer saw a car that matched the description of the suspect vehicle driving up and down the side streets near the high school. Stokes was arrested and accused of stealing the three phones, valued at $750.
