Soon Police will be out in force during Trick-or-Treat , but parents can do a little checking ahead of time, too

Parents preach all year long to not take candy from strangers — well, of course, unless it's Halloween. 

It's a good idea to know who your neighbors are year-round, but sending your kids door-to-door offers a little extra incentive to make sure they don't trick-or-treat at a questionable house.

Solon police will patrol the streets in marked cruisers between 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4 for trick-or-treat. 

Kids are urged to carry glow sticks or flashlights so they stay visible during their rounds.
