Police: Man Admits To Setting Up Marijuana Grow Room

Besides a small amount of marijuana, a 27-year-old Lakewood man pulled over by on June 24, didn't have anything else illegal on him.

But what he did have in his car made police suspect the man was running a marijuana growing operation. And according to the police report, the man eventually fessed up to setting up a grow room at a home he recently rented in Bainbridge

According to the report, the man was pulled over heading west on U.S. 422 at about 8:16 p.m. on June 24. Police detected the smell of marijuana, and the man admitted to having a small amount of pot.

But then officers noticed he was clutching a receipt in his hand. On the receipt from Home Depot was a number of items often used to grow marijuana. When asked if he was growing marijuana, the man initially denied it.

But then police found more evidence. They found another receipt with a similar list of suspicious items. The man also had more than $2,000 worth of cash on him.

And to top it off, police found a copy of High Times Magazine with a cover story called "Greatest Grow Rooms of 2011."

The man then admitted to starting a grow room at a rental property in Bainbridge.

Solon police charged the man with drug abuse for the marijuana possession. But all the other items were legal. Police did contact Bainbridge authorites to tell them what was found.
