Police Charge Two Men With Crack Cocaine Possession

A officer on patrol March 24 recognized a familiar face: .

This time, police got the man, Ricardo Anderson, 55, of Bainbridge, on more serious charges: drug possession.

According to the police report, the officer say a car driving on Harper Road near U.S. 422 and recognized the driver as Anderson, who was driving last week without a valid license.

Anderson and his passenger, Leonard Phillips, 47, of Bainbridge, were both charged with drug possession for suspected crack cocaine possession. Anderson also was cited for an open alcohol container, driving with a suspended license and also brought in on a resisting arrest warrant from Bainbridge.

Phillips, who tried to run from the police and had to be forcibly restrained, was charged with drug possession and referred to the grand jury for charges of resisting arrest, according to the police report.

An officer suffered minor injuries while restraining Phillips, but police said he's OK.
