Police Charge Man with Possession of Cocaine, Giving False Identity

A man was pulled over because his license plate light was out, gets busted with giving a false identity, having cocaine and prescription drugs

Police pulled over a 46-year-old Garrettsville man on March 31 because the light on his back license plate was burned out, police said. What officers didn't know was what they would find in his car.

When Raymond Tatonetti came to a stop at the intersection of routes 43 and 91 on March 31, Solon police ran his plates and realized they belong to a Dodge truck but Tatonetti was driving a Chevrolet Blazer, police said. He told officers that he was pulled over earlier in a different city and let off, which police suspected as fishy.

Officers asked for his name, but he lied and said it was Raymond, and he didn't have a license because he was from Michigan. He said he didn't know is Social Security Number because he was bad with numbers, police said. He also had a prescription drug bottle lying on his passenger seat that he said belonged to his brother. Police later identified the pills as oxycontin, hydrocodone and acetaminophen and that they belonged to Tatonetti. He also had seven open license suspension, police said.
