Police Blotter: Thieves Make Off With 28,000 Pounds of Steel

Seven steel coils were lifted from BCS Metals in late December.

When the plant manager at BCS Metals was taking inventory on Dec. 30, something stood out.

About 28,000 pounds of steel was missing – valued at $14,000.

The company, located at 31000 Solon Road, reported the theft to the Solon Police Department, which is investigating the case.

According to the police report, the company suspects the coils were taken sometime between Dec. 28 and Dec. 29.
