Police Blotter: Solon Police Investigating Rape of 16-Year-Old Girl

Police have identified a suspect – a 15-year-old Solon male – but no charges have been filed yet

Solon Police are investigating the alleged rape Sunday of a 16-year-old Seven Hills girl, according to a police report.

According to a police report, the victim was staying with a friend of her mother's in Solon during New Year's weekend. The report states that in the early morning of Jan. 2, a 15-year-old male living in the house locked the girl in a bathroom,  where he assaulted her.

The girl's family took her to Hillcrest Hospital that same morning. Hospital staff reported the rape accusation to police, according to the report.

No charges have been filed so far because police are waiting on evidence from a sexual assault kit.

The case remains under investigation, police say.
