Plow Truck Driver Cited In Crash That Closed Aurora Road

A private snow plow driver was cited for failure to control after he hit a utility pole on Aurora Road on Dec. 29 that caused power outages and closed the road for much of the day, according to Solon Police.

The driver, a 46-year-old Mentor man, said he lost control of the truck and hit the pole at about 5:33 a.m.

The crash closed off Aurora Road between Pettibone and Liberty completely for hours, and the road did not re-open to two-way traffic until about 3 p.m., according to police.
