Men Arrested and Charged With Driving With Loaded Gun

Two men were arrested in Solon after a traffic stop when found a loaded handgun under a seat, along with 21-grams of marijuana.

Arrested and charged were Martrel Jones, 20, of Painesville and Larrez Lowe, 19, of Cleveland. Jones, who was driving, was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and speeding. Lowe was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Charges of possessing criminal tools and drug possession will be presented to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury.

According to a police report, the two men were pulled over at 2:56 a.m. on March 15 while driving on U.S. 422 near SOM Center Road.

The police officers smelled marijuana and searched the car.

They found a loaded .40-caliber handgun under the passenger seat rolled up inside a pair of winter gloves, according to the report.

Police also found 21 grams of marijuana and a scale.
