Police: Solon Man Killed in U.S. 422 Crash Was Intoxicated

Jason Kasmer, 28, of Solon, was killed Nov. 19 when his Jeep flipped over while he was driving west on U.S. 422

A Solon man killed when his Jeep flipped on U.S. 422 in November was intoxicated at the time of the crash, according to the and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police say evidence suggests Jason P. Kasmer, 28, of Solon may have been drinking before his crash at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 19. Toxicology reports perfomed by the medical examiner indicate Kasmer's blood-alcohol level was .254, more than three-times the legal limit.

There was no evidence that Kasmer was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the police report. Phone records also show that there were text messages sent from Kasmer's phone around the time of the crash, but it's unclear whether texting contributed to Kasmer losing control of his Jeep, police say.
