Man Arrested in Solon for Meth Ingredients, Sword Possession

Solon Police dog Stryker finds drug ingredients during Saturday traffic stop on 422

A Willoughby man was arrested during a traffic stop after police say they found ingredients used to make methamphetamines and a 23-inch-long sword in his car, according to a news release from Solon Police.

Michael Seldon, 29, of Willoughby, was arrested and charged with possession of chemicals used to manufacture a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon and two traffic offenses, according to the release. A passenger,Β Tarin Trippett, 28, of Painesville, was charged with possessing an open alcohol container.

At about 8:51 p.m. Saturday, Solon police's canine handler Matthew Troyer stopped a car driving east on 422 for failing to drive in marked lines and no license plate illumination.

The police dog, Stryker, sniffed the car and detected narcotics, according to the news release. Inside, police found ingredients, all purchased from different stores, that are used to make meth. They also found the sword and an open beer can.
