Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking After Solon Police Find Four Pounds of Weed

A Warren man was arrested Feb. 10 and charged with drug trafficking and other related charges when Solon police found four pounds of marijuana in his car, according to a police report.

Jonathan Russ, 31, was charged with felony drug trafficking, drug possession and possession of criminal tools. He was also cited for an open liquor container and failure to drive in marked lanes.

According to the report, police saw a car weaving on 422 near the eastern border of Solon.

After they pulled the car over, the driver told officers he had smoked marijuana about three or four hours ago. They asked if there were any drugs in the car, and the man replied "I don't think so."

He added that if they would find anything, it would probably be marijuana.

Police reported finding a shopping bag behind the speakers in the trunk filled with four one-pound bags of marijuana. The man also carried $1,400 cash in his wallet, according to the report.
