Intoxicated Man Arrested After Falling Asleep in Car on Off-Ramp

Information provided by the Solon Police Department

Solon police saw a car partially blocking the U.S. 422 off-ramp to State Route 91 on July 16 around 5:30 a.m. Its lights were on, but there was no movement inside, police reports said.

When the officer walked up to the car, he found Peter Howard, 23, of Cleveland, asleep at the wheel. The officer shined his flashlight on Howard, and eventually knocked on the window to wake him up.

Police asked Howard to perform sobriety tests, which he failed, the report said. In a breath test, he blew a .127. Howard was arrested and police charged him with physical control and prohibited blood-alcohol level.
