At least they caught her & she'll be punished accordingly. It's a shame the jewelery was not found before the little *itch of a thief sold it off though. My Mother went through the same type of thing but the culprit in her case, was never caught. After two strokes, my Mother could not wear her wedding rings. The rings were put into a small velvet box by my Father, & set on her bedside table, so she'd always have them near by. To our dismay, especially my Mother's, one of the homecare workers or nurses, (we never found out which one) stole the velvet box & rings. Since there was more than one homecare worker caring for Mother at any given time, & with all of them denying they took the rings, no charges were ever laid.

Some people need a reality check. Why would you leave, small expensive items easily accessible in your house? I have read story after story of people letting contractors into their house and finding their, jewelry, money, guns, coin collections missing. You don't know who these people really are! Of course you shouldn't have to worry about this but its the world we live in. I had an incident 2 years ago with a subcontracted cable installer in my own home. He got caught, and now I have a large lock box made of steel, and to big to carry away. These valuables are in there when I have workers over. My prescription drugs also go in there when my teenagers come over with their friends. Just a precaution. Peace of mind.
