Five People Charged for Aggravated Robbery at Park East Apartments

Two men and three teens were arrested after man said they pointed a gun at him while trying to steal cigarettes

Two men and three teenagers were arrested late Wednesday and charged with aggravated robbery after police say they pointed a gun at a man while trying to steal "black and mild" cigarettes at the Park East Apartments.

Arrested and charged with a first-degree felony were:Β Reco Simmons, 18, of Bedford Heights, Jevon D. Holt, 18, of Bedford, and three 17-year-old teens, a female from Solon and two males from Bedford.

A 19-year-old man who lived in Park East told police that he walked to the BP station at the corner of SOM Center and Aurora roads to buy "black and mild" cigarettes.

As he was walking back, police say he was confronted by a about five people who asked to bum a cigarette. The man said no, and they exchanged insults until one of the suspects pulled a gun and pointed it at the man's head.

The man ran off and three of the men chased him. He hid in in the apartment complex and called the police.

Police tracked down the female involved at her apartment on Linden Drive and found the other suspects hiding in a Dodge Durango.
