Firefighters Douse Late Night House Fire on Glen Allen Drive

The accidental fire caused almost $45,000 in damage.

The Solon Fire Department put out a house fire on Glen Allen Drive Monday night, but no one was injured.

The fire was reported at 10:54 p.m. and was put out in less than 20 minutes.

The homeowner smelled smoke, woke up his wife, called the fire department and got out of the home.Β

According to Fire Chief Bill Shaw it was accidental and started outside the front door of the home by a porch light. It then traveled into the attic area. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.

Damage was estimated at $45,000. Β
