Fire At International Paper Co. Causes Minimal Damage

The information in this report is from the Solon Fire Department.

The had a busy day Monday with five emergency calls coming in at roughly the same time.

Solon Fire Rescue was sent to International Paper Company, located at 6225 Camp Industrial, at about 8:50 a.m. on a report of a fire, according to Chief Bill Shaw.

Shaw said that there was a small fire in a fan located in a vent on the building roof. Some burning material had drop to paper stored below by the damage was "minimal," Shaw said.

At the same time, Solon Fire was called to deal with another medical emergency and three more EMS calls came in during the fire.

The department requested mutual aid from Chagrin Falls for one of the EMS calls.
