Fight Outside Solon Apartment Building Ends In Assault Charge

A 19-year-old Maple Heights man was charged with assault after police say he provoked a fight on Monroe Court in Solon.

According to police, Curtis Williams, 19, came to Monroe Court and was threatening a 17-year-old resident of the apartments. He was accompanied by his 17-year-old brother

The 17-year-old resident and his 20-year-old brother came outside and began fighting with Williams, according to a police report.

Police say the teen with Williams began to record the fight on his cell phone.

Williams was charged with assault and carrying a concealed weapon, both first-degree misdemeanors. Police say he had a folding knife on him.

The 20-year-old brother was cited by disorderly conduct, and the two 17-year-olds were referred to juvenile court.
